Every year thousands of professional drivers participate in Company, Regional, State and National Truck Driving Championships. These events highlight the dedication of the trucking industry’s commitment to deliver America’s goods and services in a safe and responsible manner. Drivers compete to show off the skills attained by many years of driving safely. The comradery and fellowship amoung like minded professionals is something that must be experienced to be understood.
Safety Drive for a Cure started out as a company event for the drivers of the YRCW family of companies. It was then known as the Battle of the Borders. Our first two years of fund raising for the PBTF were highly successful. The management of the two YRCW companies that service the Atlanta area (Holland and YRC Frieght) have agreed to open this event up to all drivers from all companies.
They believe in the importance of supporting an event that has a real ability to positively influence highway safety while raising money for a very deserving charity. For the past seven years our company has hosted a Truck Driving Championship (TDC) style driving competition for the drivers of the YRCW family (Holland, YRC Freight, Reddaway and New Penn). The past seven years we have made safe driving/Safety and raising funds for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation – Georgia Chapter our goals.
